The Community Volunteer Expo is an opportunity for students to meet and discuss volunteering with representatives from the not-for-profit sector.
Volunteers are an important and valuable resource – in fact, they are often the heart of community organisations – without them many organisations could not function.
But volunteering is not only about how you can contribute to your community.
It’s also a way of developing new skills, adding value to your CV and exploring your future through the world of volunteering.
Students who attended last year’s Expo had this to say –
- Very informative expo, many volunteering opportunities. Wish I was able to help out ALL OF YOU”
- “Everyone was so friendly and enthusiastic. A great expo!”
- “There was heaps of different organisations that I hadn’t heard of which was cool”
- “Fantastic event! Great to have so many groups in the one place”
Come along and find out how you how you can make a difference – to you and your community.
Students who volunteer are also eligible for the La Trobe Award. For further information, contact latrobeaward@latrobe.edu.au
